Their enhanced luer-lock inlet provides secure connections and eliminates filter 'blow-off'. 17mm syringe filters supply Nylon, PTFE, PES, MCE and PVDF which are available in 0.22um, 0.45um pore sizes. 17 mm syringe filters (upper) offer up to 70% more filtration area than traditional 13 mm filters (lower).
The filter unit can be used with an appropriate filter for particle analysis or clear and sterile filtration. Filtration support by vacuum is possible. Ready-to-use, syringe-driven units designed for sterilizing and clarifying sterile solutions are available in 0.1, 0.22, 0.45 and 5.0 μm pore sizes.
Nylon membrane syringe filters may not be suitable for all samples and are ideal for near neutral pH aqueous solutions and compatible nonaqueous solvents. For samples composed of acids and bases, hydrophilic PTFE membrane syringe filters and PES membrane syringe filters may be considered.
